Our 2025 volunteer of the year is Carol Haddix! Join us on Wednesday, October 15th to celebrate all of her wonderful years of service.

Carol was raised in Morris County and graduated from the University of Virginia with an Environmental Science degree. She married after graduation and learned she was expecting very shortly thereafter. Carol always joked that she got her "Mrs." degree in college! Carol and her husband Bill have been married for 46 years and have 2 sons and 4 precious grandchildren.
Carol worked with her husband in his law office, then began working as an opthalmologist as his medical secretary and technician before moving to Kremer Eye Center to be a laser opthalmic technician. She took "early retirement" to care for her father before he died.
Carol has volunteered in many different capacities over the years, including Little League, Project Prom, Cub Scounts (including Cub Master), Treasurer for the Boy Scouts and for the Parent Teacher Group. While volunteering at the Haddon Heights Library, Bob Hunter suggested Carol try Interfaith Caregivers. At first she was hesitant, having taken care of her father before his death and wanting something different. But when Bob showed her the assignments she realized the many different ways of helping people and signed on.
Carol was hooked! She has met so many wonderful people, and has had the honor of helping many of Interfaith's clients. Carol has learned that there is such a wealth in our seniors, which often goes untapped. They may be a few years older, but their hearts never age. Carol cherishes the friendships she has made with our clients, and realizes how much her help and care means to them. "Sometimes all it takes is a simple smile to light up their day!"
